"Be careful what you wish for" is the moral, delivered in a much more pleasant way than "The Monkey's Paw".

A semi-autobiographical, semi-infographic tale of a boy's journey with ADHD; enlighting for all ages.

A modern retelling of Frankenstein, themes of death and consciousness are explored in a thoughtful, fresh way.
Scout is a middle school student we're all too familiar with; shoved into an elective course she has no reason to care about and obsessed with a cheesy pop-author (Just me? Oh). This book was cute, true-to-life, and laugh-out-loud funny.
Often, I feel that fantasy worlds fall flat when crammed into the frames of a graphic novel format, but Stirling's world is perfectly explained and sure to rope you in. Our protagonists' relationship is satisfyingly explored in this sweet tale.
Mamo features gorgeous art and a compelling story about a young witch forging her own path. In keeping with previous years' bests lists, I'm a sucker for the illustration style, a fantastical world with colors to die for and not-too-real yet not-too-stylized characters. As usual, the addition of a cat only sweetens the deal. Looking forward to more from Milledge, who has a contract to illustrate a Stiefvater series (expected 2025).
